Spreading joy from the skies: Airnorth’s Santa Flight returns to remote communities.

For over 25 years, Airnorth has been spreading Christmas cheer to remote communities across northern Australia. The Airnorth Santa Run will visit the children in Nhulunbuy and Groote Eylandt, before continuing the festivities in Kununurra.

Celebrating over 45 years in aviation, Airnorth plays a vital role in connecting remote communities to essential services and opportunities. The annual Santa flight underscores the airline’s commitment to not only providing vital transport links but also giving back to the communities it proudly serves. From delivering supplies to creating unforgettable moments like the Santa flight, Airnorth is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those in even the most isolated areas.

In the past five years, valued partners McDonald’s, Coles, and Mix FM have joined the initiative, making the holiday tradition even more special. Together, they deliver gifts of fresh fruit, candy canes, toys, footballs, and other festive surprises to local schools, highlighting Airnorth’s strong community spirit.

Daniel Bowden, CEO of Airnorth, said:

“For more than two decades, the Airnorth Santa flight has embodied our commitment to the communities we serve. Partnering with McDonald’s, Coles, and Mix FM over the past five years has taken this initiative to new heights, and we are proud to see the smiles and joy it brings to children in these remote areas we operate to.”

McDonald’s Owners, Vicki-Leigh Lettice and Phillip Coleman added:

“The Airnorth Santa flight has become a cherished tradition, and McDonald’s is honoured to be part of it for the past five years. The excitement and happiness we see on the children’s faces is heartwarming and reminds us of the importance of giving back.”

A spokesperson from Coles said:

“At Coles, we’re passionate about supporting the health and happiness of communities across Australia. Being part of the Airnorth Santa flight and providing fresh fruit to children in remote areas is incredibly rewarding. Seeing their joy and excitement is a powerful reminder of the spirit of giving.”

Mix FM Radio Announcers, Daniel Hilliard, and Andrew Thien, said:

“The strength of working in radio is our connection to people’s lives. We’re excited to work with Airnorth so that we can extend that reach and help make a difference to the Christmas of many families who can’t tune in every day.”

Airnorth’s Santa flight continues to be a highlight of the year, not only for the airline and its partners but for the children whose smiles light up the festivities. By visiting remote schools and spreading Christmas cheer, this annual event strengthens a bond with these communities, ensuring the magic of the holidays reaches even the most isolated regions.
