Airnorth to operate Toowoomba – Melbourne and Toowoomba – Cairns route

Airnorth Australia’s premier regional Airline, is pleased to announce that from 14 March 2016 it will commence operating direct services from Toowoomba (Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport) to Melbourne, and also Toowoomba direct to Cairns.

Airnorth has worked closely with Wellcamp Airport to establish this new service which will operate as full service flights in their state-of-the-art 76-seat Embraer 170 jet.

Seven return services will operate per week between Toowoomba and Melbourne and three return services per week between Toowoomba and Cairns.

“This initiative provides a much needed direct link for residents of Toowoomba and surrounding regions to Melbourne and Cairns for both business and leisure travellers alike,” Mr Daniel Bowden, Chief Executive Officer or Airnorth said.

“The new flights will also allow passengers from the Toowoomba region to easily connect onto international and other domestic services via Cairns or Melbourne”

Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport General Manager, Phil Gregory welcomed the announcement.

“Airnorth is the leading Airline in Northern Australia and Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport is delighted to welcome them on board.

We are extremely excited to be able to offer our customers direct return flights to two of Australia’s premier travel destinations,” said Mr Gregory.

Airnorth will also be seeking to expand the current codeshare arrangements which are in place across our domestic and international network with Qantas Airways to include these services.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, Airnorth will offer one-way fares between Toowoomba and Melbourne from $179* and one-way fares between Toowoomba and Cairns from $139*. Fares will be available for sale from early January 2016.
