Airnorth Extends Saturday Kununurra-Perth Service Through to Christmas

Up to 1,600 additional seats will provide greater choice and flexibility for East Kimberley travellers.

Airnorth is extending its seasonal Saturday return service between Kununurra and Perth through to 19 December 2026, providing additional connectivity for East Kimberley residents in the lead-up to Christmas.

Airnorth’s seasonal Saturday Kununurra–Perth service returned on 28 March 2026 as part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to supporting travel and tourism across the East Kimberley. Traditionally operating across the peak tourism season, the Saturday service will now continue from 31 October through to 19 December, maintaining four weekly connections between Kununurra and Perth for a further eight weeks.

To support the extension, Airnorth will launch a limited-time sale from Tuesday 18 August, with Kununurra–Perth airfares starting from $302 one way* for travel on the extended Saturday services.

The additional capacity provides residents, businesses and visitors with greater choice and flexibility to travel between Kununurra and Perth for work, holidays, shopping, visiting friends and family, and the busy end-of-year period.

Airnorth CEO Daniel Bowden said the decision to extend the service reflected the airline’s ongoing commitment to the East Kimberley and the communities it has connected for decades.

“Kununurra and the East Kimberley have long been an important part of the Airnorth network, and we’re pleased to extend our Saturday Perth service beyond the traditional tourism season this year,” Mr Bowden said.

“For people living in regional communities, additional frequency is about much more than simply adding seats. It provides greater choice around when people can travel, whether that’s for work, to see family and friends, access services or enjoy some time away.

“By maintaining our fourth weekly service through to 19 December, we’re adding up to 1,600 seats and giving the East Kimberley community another option to travel directly between Kununurra and Perth during an important time of year.

“We’ve been connecting the Kimberley for many years and remain committed to supporting the region. Where we see demand and an opportunity to provide greater connectivity, we’ll continue looking at ways we can strengthen our services.”

The extension also creates further opportunity for Perth travellers to experience Kununurra later in the year and discover the East Kimberley beyond its traditional peak tourism season.
