Airnorth Adds More Than 4,000 Seats to Central Australia

Additional Tuesday services strengthen connectivity between Darwin, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Perth.
Airnorth is continuing to strengthen its Central Australian network, adding more than 4,000 seats over three months through new Tuesday services connecting Darwin, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Perth.
To celebrate the introduction of a fifth weekly service between Perth and Alice Springs, Airnorth has released sale fares starting from $298* one way.
The sale is available from 19 August to 1 September 2026 for travel on eligible Tuesday services between Perth and Alice Springs from 22 September to 22 December 2026. Seats are limited.
From 1 September, Airnorth will introduce a fourth weekly same-day return service between Darwin and Tennant Creek, providing additional capacity and greater flexibility for residents, businesses and the resources sector.
From 22 September, the Tuesday service will extend through to Alice Springs, creating additional connectivity between Darwin, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. A new Tuesday return service between Perth and Alice Springs will also commence.
The expanded schedule will operate as a trial through to 22 December 2026, adding a fourth weekly connection between Darwin and Alice Springs and increasing Perth to Alice Springs services to five per week.
Together, the additional services will introduce more than 4,000 seats into the Central Australian market over the three-month trial period, providing greater choice for locals, business travellers and the growing number of industries requiring reliable access across the region.
Airnorth CEO Daniel Bowden said the additional capacity reflected the airline’s continued confidence in Central Australia and its commitment to responding where demand exists.
“Central Australia remains an important part of the Airnorth network, and we’re continuing to look for opportunities to strengthen the connections that support the people, businesses and industries of the region,” Mr Bowden said.
“Adding more than 4,000 seats over the trial is a meaningful increase in capacity and provides Alice Springs and Tennant Creek with another option to connect with both Darwin and Perth.
“We know reliable air access plays an important role in regional communities. It supports local residents, enables workforce movement, connects businesses and makes it easier for people to travel for work, holidays or to visit family and friends.
“This trial gives us an opportunity to respond to the demand we’re seeing and, importantly, allows the market to demonstrate its support for additional capacity.”
The timing of the new Tuesday services will also provide Alice Springs residents with an additional travel option from 22 September, ahead of the September school holiday period.
For Tennant Creek, the additional Tuesday frequency builds on Airnorth’s existing services and provides another same-day return option to Darwin from 1 September, before extending south to Alice Springs later in the month.
The additional services form part of Airnorth’s broader commitment to maintaining and growing regional connectivity across Northern and Central Australia.
