Magnetic Termite Mounds, Litchfield

One of the Top End’s more memorable natural wonders are Litchfield National Park’s hundreds of Magnetic Termite Mounds standing up to two metres high on a wide flat plain. These alien-like structures are unique to Northern Australia with some mounds being over 100 years old.
Wangai Falls, Litchfield

Another must-see sight and activity is swimming in the large waterfall at the base of Litchfield’s Wangi Falls. These waterfalls are the park’s most popular and include many trails that take you to the top for incredible views of the cascades.
Jim Jim Falls, Kakadu

Moving to the next remarkable national park, Kakadu, we have Jim Jim Falls – an eye-catching 200 meter-high waterfall. These cascades will leave you feeling awe-inspired with rich red-ochre rocks defining its faces and white sandy shorelines along the water’s edges.
Nawurlandja Lookout, Kakadu

Probably the Top End’s best-kept secret; Nawurlandja Lookout offers unforgettable views across the Anbangbang Billabong to Burrungkuy, and the Arnhem Land escarpment. It is truly a magical spot, particularly at sunset.
