COVID-19 TRAVEL UPDATE

Here at Airnorth, the safety of our customers and staff is our priority. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and to comply with directives as advised by the World Health Organisation, Centre for Coronavirus Disease Control, the Australian Government Department of Health and aviation industry authorities.

A number of State, Territory and Local Governments have announced further travel restrictions and lockdowns in the destinations that we operate to/from.

Airnorth would like to advise most scheduled jet services will continue to operate as per our published timetable. To view the latest timetable please click here.

We encourage our customers to check State and Territory travel restrictions prior to commencing their travel plans.

Our Reservations team will be available Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm ACST. Please note that we are experiencing high call volumes and wait times are longer than usual.

FLYING WITH US DOMESTICALLY

Whether you’re flying to, from or within Australia, we encourage our customers to check local, state or federal government and authorities’ websites for the latest information on travel restrictions and border force controls as new measures to keep Australian’s safe are being introduced in response to Coronavirus and may impact you travel plans.

Please note that some travel restrictions may apply on intra-territory routes, and travel is only permitted if you are an essential worker.

Most State and Territories do require travellers to complete an Arrivals form prior to your actual travel. Airnorth strongly encourage customers to review their destinations entry requirements prior to commencing your travel.

NEW ENTRY CONDITIONS INTO NT

Northern Territory border entry and travel restrictions are changing as more Australians are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

From December 20, 2021 anyone who is fully vaccinated can enter the Northern Territory without having to quarantine.

You must:

  • Complete a Border Entry Form before arriving in the NT
  • Follow the testing regime
  • Download the G2G Now app
  • You can travel anywhere in the Northern Territory except to an exclusion zone for the purpose of travel, within 14 days of your arrival to the NT. Exclusion zones are communities that have a full vaccination rate of less than 80 per cent for residents aged 5 years and over. They do not include service centres.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON MASKS

You’re required to wear a mask on all Australian domestic flights.

Your face mask needs to cover your mouth and nose and must be worn unless you’re under 12 years of age or have a medical condition.

When travelling within Australia, you’ll need to wear your mask as soon as you enter the airport, and also inflight.​

Ensure you’re aware of any government requirements that apply at your destination, including wearing face masks and coverings.

FLYING WITH US INTERNATIONALLY

Travelling with us to and from Darwin, Australia – Dili, Timor-Leste

We are delighted to confirm our weekly service between Darwin and Dili, Timor-Leste.

Darwin into Dili

Anyone who is fully vaccinated can enter Timor-Leste.

Travellers must present check-in staff with a double vaccination certificate and a negative COVID test taken with 72 hours prior to the flights departure.

Dili into Darwin

Please note only fully vaccinated travellers exempt from travel restrictions can prepare to travel to Australia.

Travellers will need to prove their vaccination status and complete an Australia Travel Declaration at least 72 hours prior to departure.

From 23 January 2022, travellers from Dili to Darwin must produce a negative COVID-19 test result prior to boarding.

The following tests are approved by the Australian government for travel into Australia;

  • Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) taken under medical supervision, within 24 hours prior to scheduled flights departure;
  • PCR test within three (3) days before the day of the flights scheduled departure

Test results can be paper-based or electronic but must meet mandatory requirements.

For a RAT test, this must be undertaken by or under the supervision of a medical practitioner (e.g., pharmacist, general practitioner, nurse, pathologist, pathology collector or trained personnel at airport-based testing stations).   Self-Administered RAT tests are not permitted.

When you arrive into the Northern Territory, you must:

​AIRNORTH INFLIGHT HEALTH AND WELLBEING

The health and safety of our customers and crew, is our highest priority. Travel is an important part of life, and we know there’s understandable concern about COVID-19.

While the risk of inflight transmission remains extremely low, we’ve introduced additional safety measures and updated our inflight services. We also strongly recommend you wear a face mask on all flights. If you do not have a face mask, please ask one of our friendly cabin crew who will provide one free of charge.

To date Airnorth has not carried any persons who have had COVID-19.To minimise risk, Airnorth has undertaken significant measures to ensure your journey with us is safe and enjoyable.

Our regular cleaning and maintenance procedures have been amended to include a disinfect process with a unique antimicrobial technology that actively protects our treated hard and soft surfaces for up to 100 days.

All of our aircraft have been fitted with a Universal Precaution Kit in addition to the biohazard kit which include gloves, hand sanitiser and face masks to keep our customers and crew safe if in the event of a suspected case during flight.

STAY HEALTHY WITH GOOD HYGIENE

Here’s how you can stay safe when travelling:

  • Regularly wash your hands
  • Use hand sanitiser
  • Cover your sneeze or cough with your arm
  • Wear a face mask when travelling
