Perth is the capital of Western Australia and one of the country's most beautiful cities, situated on the banks of the Swan River.
Perth’s weather is described as “Mediterranean” with hot dry summers and colder wet winters. Over 80 kilometres of white sandy beaches make Perth's coast ideal for swimming and surfing. The beaches are clean and uncrowded, and the city is especially spectacular at night, when its glittering skyline is reflected in the Swan River.
Free buses get you around the Central Business District, where you can visit many Perth tourist attractions or enjoy the city’s quality department and fashion chain stores in the Murray Street and Hay Street malls.
Perth is within easy reach of the Margaret River region where over 15 per cent of the country’s premium wine is produced. Originally a chilled out surfie town, Margaret River has evolved into the ultimate smorgasbord of good food, fine wine and spectacular scenery. With around 100 wineries to choose from, you won’t be stuck for choice.
